Hello. I'm Wibble. I've been playing adult visual novels (AVN) for a few years now, but I remember how hard it was to discover good story-focused AVNs when I first discovered the genre.

The purpose of this list is to help new players discover many of the good, story-focused AVNs that exist. My preferences tend towards visual novels that feature strong stories and memorable characters. I have a strong aversion to incest content or loli content, and my tastes are fairly vanilla. I don’t enjoy fuck-fest games; so if that’s what you want, you may want to look elsewhere.

I've come up with some broad tiers for this list, and the games are presented in alphabetical order within each tier. There are many, many other games that I've tried, but these are the games I generally consider worth recommending. Regardless of which tier I’ve placed them in, these are all games that deserve support. I tend to think of the highly recommended as gold medallists, recommended as silver medallists, and well worth your time as bronze medallists. Winning any medal is a big deal.

There are some well-regarded games that are listed in the other tiers which I have not played, either due to my personal preferences with regards to the kinks in those games, or dislike of certain aesthetic choices. They are mentioned as a service to players who might enjoy them.

I have tried to make this a no-bullshit kind of list, so there will never be advertising or other nonsense.
